Miriam Haskell Gold and Pearl Dangles Hair Comb
Ref: SD-0908-015
This pretty side comb is signed by Miriam Haskell, one of the most celebrated names in 20th century jewellery. The back of the heading has the classic gold signature cartouche and the flower shaped studs which are typical of Haskell combs.
Haskell jewellery is known for its use of elaborate filigree and careful wiring, all handmade and accommodating a variety of designs. The comb shows an attractive design with two gold tone motifs hanging from a length of fancy chain which is attached to a faux tortoiseshell comb. The motifs comprise concentric circles of faux pearl and beaten gold tone.
This probably dates from the 1970s when there was a lingering hippie influence for hair accessories with dangling pendants.
