Miriam Haskell Signed Side Comb with Coins

This pretty side comb is signed by Miriam Haskell, one of the most celebrated names in 20th century jewellery. The comb shows an attractive motif of disks in electro plated antique gold tone finish across the top of the heading. From this depend a collection of faux Roman combs in two sizes which are affixed by gold tone chains to the heading. The effect in wear can be seen on the pictures with the mannequin.

This comb probably dates from the 1970s and shows the Hippie influence in the dangles.

The back of the heading has the classic gold signature cartouche and the flower shaped studs which are typical of Haskell combs. It is back stamped FRANCE

2 Alexandre de Paris Signed Side Combs

Alexandre de Paris was among the first celebrity hairdressers who elevated the profession to an art form. In a career of more than 50 years he styled models for the great fashion houses and many international celebrities.

In 1971 he created a range of luxury hair accessories which are assembled by hand and bear the name of the house on the back. These two quality combs are both is a creamy white acrylic.

The smaller comb is a signed example with the classic traditional zig zag and integral milled gold tone wire design.

The larger comb is not signed but bears the iconic large A on the front of the heading on a gold cartouche.
